About the position
The postdoctoral fellowship position is a temporary position where the main goal is to qualify for work in senior academic positions.
This is a 100% position for 2.5 years, starting January 2023 or earlier when possible. You will be working on the FLIP.AI project (https://www.ntnu.edu/isb/flipai), an ongoing project on federated machine learning for improving prostate cancer diagnosis with artificial intelligence (AI). The project, which is funded by the Norwegian Cancer Society, started in 2021 and will last until 2025. Federated Learning is a novel privacy-preserving machine learning framework for the collaborative training of AI models, without the need to share patient data physically across institutions. In this project, we develop, validate, and test federated AI for medical imaging tasks like prostate segmentation and prostate cancer detection. Your responsibilities include continuing the technical development of our Federated Learning framework for prostate cancer imaging, and benchmarking its performance for segmentation, reconstruction, and detection tasks on existing data sets. Furthermore, you will contribute to demonstrating the clinical feasibility of federated prostate cancer AI solutions by supporting real-world implementation together with academic and clinical partners.
