A NEW Premier Inn, which is the first of it’s kind in Cumbria’s national park, will be a ‘significant moment’ for the company, with the new date set to be announced ‘shortly’.
The Lake District’s first Premier Inn will be sharing their opening day ‘shortly’- after previously, announcing that the Premier Inn may be opening in December 2022.
However, the company have said that they have made the decision to leave the higely significant’ opening date until this year, to ensure ‘everything is perfect’ for the new hotel- with Premier Inn releasing the date ‘shortly’.
A spokesperson for Whitbread said: “The new Premier Inn on High Hill in Keswick is our first Premier Inn hotel in the Lake District National Park. Opening the doors will be a hugely significant moment for us and we want to get everything perfect for our guests before we welcome them to the new hotel.
“We are investing in Keswick for the long-term and are really looking forward to being part of the community and playing our part to promote the town to our leisure and business customers.
“Taking the time to get everything ready for them is the right thing to do.”
“We will share an opening date for the new hotel shortly.”

The new 71-bedroom hotel in Keswick was on track to open in December, creating between 25 and 30 permanent and flexible job opportunities with the national hotel brand.
On opening, the Keswick Premier Inn hotel will bring Premier Inn’s very latest format bedrooms including 12 enhanced Premier Plus rooms into the heart of the Lake District National Park.
Construction of the building started in October 2021.
The hotel is on the former Ravensfield Residential Care Home and within walking distance of Keswick town centre.
The company have previously said that they are ‘looking forward to playing a positive and long-term role in the community’ of Keswick.
Last March, Richard Aldread, head of UK and Ireland construction for Premier Inn, said: “Opening the doors of the first Premier Inn in the Lake District National Park will be a real milestone for us and we are looking forward to playing a positive and long-term role in the community when the hotel is ready to open and welcome guests.”
