Premier Inn is set to open its first Guernsey hotel in early 2022, and will also add a second property in Jersey’s capital St Helier.
The Premier Inn Guernsey St Peter Port (Admiral Park) has completed construction, and will open in mid-February, offering 100 rooms and a Thyme Bar and Grill.
The hotel will also offer 15 Premier Plus rooms – the brand’s premium room concept which was first trialled in 2019, and which surpassed the 1,000-room milestone earlier this year.
Premier Inn expands Plus rooms concept
Plus rooms offer enhanced enhanced amenities including an “improved workspace” and “comfy armchair”, as well as vanity area with stool and hairdryer, rainfall shower with “luxury toiletries”, a nespresso machine and mini fridge with complimentary water. Guests also benefit from “Ultimate wifi”, offering “a stronger connection than our Standard wifi”.
Commenting on the news Jacqui Allum, head of the estate development team for Whitbread, said:
“We’re ending the year on a high with the practical completion of our new 100-bedroom Premier Inn at St Peter Port (Admiral Park) in Guernsey.
“The milestone marks a huge amount of hard work by our development partners Comprop, principle building contractor JW Rihoy & Son and colleagues in Whitbread’s construction team in building our first hotel in Guernsey.
“With construction work now complete we will start preparing the hotel to welcome guests from the middle of February, and we are currently recruiting our new team.
Meanwhile Premier Inn is also set to unveil its second Jersey property, with reservations for the 122-room Premier Inn Jersey St Helier (Bath Street) also open from February.
The hotel – which will also offer Premier Plus rooms – will join the existing Premier Inn Jersey St Helier (Charing Cross).
