The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are making their third trip to the U.K. this year.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have returned to the U.K.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in England today ahead of a busy week of special engagements throughout Europe. The couple are traveling without their children for this visit, accompanied by a team of Archewell aides and private security, per a royal source.
A spokesperson for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously told BAZAAR.com that the couple would "visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September." The three engagements include the One Young World Summit in Manchester, an Invictus Games event in Düsseldorf, and the WellChild Awards in London.
This is the third trip the couple have made to the U.K. this year. For their previous trip last June, they traveled with their children, Archie and Lilibet, and attended two official events for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. They also celebrated Lilibet’s first birthday with a casual and intimate backyard picnic held at Frogmore Cottage, which was attended by close friends and family.
Harry and Meghan’s return to the U.K. also comes soon after the premiere of Meghan’s long-awaited Spotify podcast, Archetypes. The first two episodes, which featured Serena Williams and Mariah Carey as guests, have included candid conversations where the duchess has given more details about her time as an official member of the royal family.
She also discussed the struggles she had with the royal family’s restrictions on her life in a groundbreaking interview with The Cut, sharing the moment when the couple decided to leave the U.K. She also said that there’s room for forgiveness between her and the royals.
"I think forgiveness is really important. It takes a lot more energy to not forgive," she told the outlet. "But it takes a lot of effort to forgive. I’ve really made an active effort, especially knowing that I can say anything."
Following the interview’s release last week, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the royal family was "disappointed" with her comments, adding that there was "loss of trust."
