The Duke of Sussex explained in the new trailer, which dropped this week, that the series had been inspired by Nelson Mandela who was close friends with his mother, Princess Diana. His comments didn’t impress royal expert Kinsey Schofield who said the couple appear to be trying to hijack the late Princess of Wales’ legacy.
Harry and Meghan’s new documentary, Live to Lead, is a seven-part docuseries that will be available to watch on Netflix on December 31.
It comes after the couple’s recent Netflix series was released, which documented their relationship, reasons for quitting their royal working roles and the fallout that ensued with the rest of the Firm.
Unlike the personal nature of the Harry & Meghan docuseries, this new documentary will focus on other people’s stories including Greta Thunberg, Gloria Steinem and lawyer Bryan Stevenson.
The royal couple said the series will look at influential leaders throughout history and how they changed the world.

Prince Harry is hoping to be reconciled with King Charles and Prince William, a source close to the royal has claimed.
The insider says Harry wants the Sovereign and Prince of Wales to watch the six-part series to understand what he and the Duchess of Sussex went through when they were senior working royals.

During the first official trailer for the upcoming series, Prince Harry can be heard saying that it was inspired by Nelson Mandela.
But royal expert Kinsey Schofield, who was not impressed by the Duke’s comments, said: “And please give Nelson Mandela a rest.
“Mr Mandela was so close to Princess Diana and it seems like Harry and Meghan are completely hijacking Diana’s story and legacy”.
She told Fox News Digital that this is “leaving Prince William irate”.
Harry’s late mother is believed to have had a friendship with Nelson Mandela who were both passionate about raising awareness and helping those in need in Africa.

During the trailer, which dropped on Monday, Harry quoted the South African president, saying: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we’ve lived…”
Meghan then appears on screen to finish the quote with: “It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
The host of the “To Di For” podcast also said the upcoming documentary “sounds incredibly boring”.
Ms Schofield said the documentary is simply an attempt for the royal couple to “align or associate themselves with individuals that have successfully made names for themselves with their philanthropy”.

The couple has been involved in a number of charitable endeavours since stepping down from the royal working roles and created the non-profit Archewell Foundation.
On the Archewell website, the couple said their “core purpose is to uplift and unite communities — local and global, online and offline — one act of compassion at a time”.
The website also states that the couple have partnered with a number of charities and non-profits including the World Central Kitchen and Global Citizen, which helped to distribute Covid-19 vaccines to the global population.
