“It’s a lonely place up there now without her,” Harry said this weekend.
In a surprise outing this weekend at Windsor,
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reunited with Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales. The foursome journeyed outside Windsor Castle to take in the floral tributes left to the late Queen Elizabeth, and greet the thousands of well-wishers who gathered outside.
As they spoke to the crowds gathered, Prince Harry told one royal fan, "It’s a lonely place up there now without her," pointing towards Windsor, per The Sun. "Whichever room she was in, you felt her presence throughout."
Earlier today, Prince Harry released a statement in memory of his beloved grandmother. "Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am forever grateful for all of our first meetings—from my earliest childhood memories with you, to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief, to the first moment you met my darling wife and hugged your beloved great-grandchildren," he said. "I cherish these times shared with you, and the many other special moments in between. You are already sorely missed, not just by us, but by the world over."
Prince Harry and Meghan had traveled to the UK early last week for a series of events to support charities close to their hearts, but when the Queen’s health took a turn for the worse, Harry quickly rushed to Balmoral to join the rest of the royal family. Prince Harry will be remaining in the UK as the nation mourns Queen Elizabeth.
The Sussexes are likely staying at Frogmore Cottage, their former home on the grounds of Windsor Castle. When the two stepped down from life as working royals, it was shared that they would keep Frogmore Cottage "so that their family will always have a place to call home in the United Kingdom." Since, they have repaid all renovation costs on the property, and Meghan Markle recently told the Cut that she packed up Frogmore Cottage during Platinum Jubilee weekend.
