A division of Providence-based Provdotnet LLC has acquired the U.S. assets of a Swiss cloud services provider — and also announced it has joined a key Hewlett Packard enterprise partner program.
Alpha 3 Cloud now owns the U.S. assets of CloudSigma. The cloud infrastructure is located in Virginia and Silicon Valley. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In joining the Hewlett Packard Enterprise program, the Alpha 3 Cloud division will offer cloud-security technology as a service. The confidential computing cloud and infrastructure products will run alongside HPE’s on-premises hardware in cloud data centers.
The solution addresses regulatory and security concerns as organizations use public cloud infrastructure for everything from machine learning to multi-party document sharing, Alpha 3 Cloud CEO Ron Sacks said in a news release.
“Customers can now leverage the economics of the cloud for applications and workloads that contain highly sensitive data,” Sacks said. “We look forward to partnering with customers to provide them with cloud-based confidential computing solutions that will protect their most sensitive data.”
Provdotnet, headquartered in Providence, provides advanced data center services. It already has data centers in Providence and Boston.
Last October Provdotnet partnered with another Swiss firm — Virtuozzo — to to support simple and accessible cloud-based computing solutions.
