The eighth annual Peterborough Pumpkin Parade will take place Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in East City along the Rotary Greenway Trail between Hunter and Douro streets.
People are being asked to bring their Halloween carved pumpkins, with candles, down to the trail so that they can shine one more time along with hundreds of other pumpkins that will line the trail for the night. It’s free to walk the parade.
Havelock is also hosting its first pumpkin parade on Tuesday starting at 6:30 p.m. along the Mathison Trail behind the Havelock Arena. Participants are asked to drop off carved pumpkins and candles between 3 to 5 p.m. at the trail entrance behind the arena, or at 6:10 p.m. prior to the parade start. People can even call 705-761-7308 to have their pumpkin picked up.
Norwood’s second annual pumpkin parade is set for Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Asphodel-Norwood Community Centre at 88 Alma St. in Norwood. People can bring carved pumpkins with candles or LED lights and they will be placed on the path circling the arena park.
Woolley Wonderland Farm in Lakehurst is hosting its second annual pumpkin walk from 3 to 7 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday at 290 Lakehurst Circle Rd. in Trent Lakes. People can contribute either carved or uncarved pumpkins for the walk, since the pumpkins will be fed to the farm’s Critter Visits animals after and seeds will be planted. People donating pumpkins get free admission to the farm.
The Pearly Acre Pig Sanctuary north of Havelock is holding a Pumpkind Pumpkin Drive from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 3967 County Road 44 in Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township when people can drop off pumpkins to be fed to the farm’s llama and 15 pigs.
Participants can take part in an educational session with a 20-minute pen visit (closed toe shoes required for entry) with the pot-bellied pigs, with a cider, coffee and snacks available for purchase from Rosemary & Rind, a bonfire and a trail walk. Admission is $25 for adults and $10 for children four to 13 (free for children four and under), with proceeds supporting the sanctuary. Advance tickets are available at eventbrite.com/e/430997443957.
