King Charles III and the Queen Consort, Camilla were met by cheering well-wishers in Northern Ireland this afternoon. As their majesties made their way down the line of royal fans, one young boy couldn’t contain his excitement after getting a handshake from the new Queen Consort.
In a video, aired on BBC News, the young boy can be seen beaming in disbelief and holding up his hand after the handshake as Camilla, and Charles, continued their greetings.
The boy excitedly looks around at his school peers, who all seemed as excited at the prospect of meeting royalty.
The crowd was filled with royal fans, including young children and dogs.
As the royal couple arrived, they were greeted with cries of ‘God save the King’ as the new King and Queen Consort stepped out of their car to greet the mourners.

The Norther Irish leg of the King’s tour of UK nations marked the first time in 77 years a British King set foot in Northern Irelan.
Charles’s grandfather, King George VI, last visited shortly after the end of World War II in 1945 and had planned to travel across the Irish Sea once more in 1951 but the tour had to be postponed.
The visit comes just a day after King Charles addressed Parliament for the first time since becoming King.
