The Queen’s funeral will be at Westminster Abbey in London on Monday, 19 September 2022
The date for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II has been confirmed, with Her Majesty to be buried alongside her late husband Prince Phillip.
Queen Elizabeth surpassed Queen Victoria to become the longest reigning monarch in 2015, and was the first ever British monarch to celebrate their Platinum Jubilee, which occurred in June 2022.
Royal funerals are few and far between, with the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret’s funerals the last before Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral in 2021, which was watched on TV by over 13 million people.
It’s unclear how many people will make the trip to London for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

The funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will be on Monday, 19 September 2022.
Her Majesty’s funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey, with around 2,000 guests set to attend.
After the funeral, she will be taken to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle to be buried with her husband, Prince Philip, who died in April 2021.
From 4pm, the humidity level will continue to rise each hour, reaching as high as 71 percent by 11pm.
Overall it’s a sunny day for the main part of Monday, 19 September with some clouds interrupting the service.
However, people travelling to the capital for the funeral shouldn’t encounter any rain as the clouds throughout the day are light.
