Canada and Spain raise prospect of New Brunswick facility becoming an LNG export plant
The European Union is in talks to buy liquefied natural gas from Repsol’s Canaport facility on Canada’s east coast which currently imports LNG but could be repurposed for exports.
The EU is switching away from Russian gas with member states such as Germany and Italy aiming to import LNG via fast-track terminals that are being rapidly built on coastlines of the North Sea and Mediterranean Sea.
