The government says it has managed to navigate the “dynamic” global situation and hold a conducive penultimate Group of 20 Sherpa meeting, adding that significant progress has been made in formulating the G20 leaders’ declaration, despite rising global tension.
G20 co-sherpa Edi Prio Pambudi said on Wednesday that delegates from all 20 members were present during the third Sherpa meeting, which was held from Monday until Wednesday in Yogyakarta, and that all members “provided their contribution toward formulating the leaders declaration.”
“We felt [during the meeting] that there was an atmosphere of mutual support,” Edi, who is also the deputy coordinating economic minister, told reporters. “As we know, the tradition of the G20 forum is to look for solutions, so there was no tense atmosphere, we kept everything in a condition of mutual respect.”
