YAROSLAVL, 16 August (BelTA) – Yaroslavl Oblast is interested in buying Belarusian passenger vehicles. Governor of Russia’s Yaroslavl Oblast Mikhail Yevrayev made the statement as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi on 16 August, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Yevrayev said that in H1 2023 Yaroslavl Oblast replaced 670 buses, including with over 120 buses made by Belarusian MAZ. “It is half of the oblast’s vehicle fleet. We intend to replace the entire bus fleet,” he remarked.
Yaroslavl Oblast is also thinking about electrobuses. There are plans to purchase 38 electrobuses initially. It is a new kind of vehicles for the Russian region. Mikhail Yevrayev remarked that Belarusian manufacturers may participate in the tender for the delivery of electrobuses.
During the meeting Dmitry Krutoi and Mikhail Yevrayev discussed joint work on import substitution, the market niches vacated by the withdrawal of Western manufacturers from Russia, the large-scale construction of motorways in the region, cooperation of Yaroslavl Oblast agricultural enterprises with Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC). Yaroslavl Oblast is curious about competences of Belarusian companies in the sphere of water purification and water treatment.
