MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Employees of the Belarusian public sector will get a pay rise on 1 September 2023, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Labor and Social Security Ministry.
The ministry explained that the work on gradual increase in the base amount continues. The government has decided on the next stage of increasing it. Resolution No. 546 by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated 18 August 2023 sets the base amount at Br235.
The base amount will increase by 11.4% over 1 September of last year (Br211). The last time it was revised upward was on 1 January 2023, and currently it is Br228.
According to the Labor and Social Security Ministry, the base amount is a basic element of the tariff system, which is used to pay the employees of state-run organizations and other organizations that receive subsidies, whose employees are considered equivalent to the public sector workers.
Since other incentive and compensatory payments are pegged to the base amount, their size will increase correspondingly from 1 September 2023.
