A new study has revealed the top tourist destinations across the UK according to Instagram, and one iconic Scottish spot is featured on the list.
With just a few weeks left of summer, it is more important than ever to get out and make the most of the season while it is still here. While there are countless scenic spots all over Scotland and the UK worth checking out, experts at InsureMy analysed hashtags on Instagram to find the 10 most 'Instagrammable' destinations across Britain.
According to the experts, the Isle of Skye is officially Scotland's most popular tourist destination on the social media platform, and the tenth most popular in the UK.
With over 993,000 posts on Instagram, the scenic island was called a must-visit destinations for hikers. The Fairy Pools in particular were a popular attraction, with many users posting photos of the small waterfalls known for their vivid aqua blue water.

Other highlights of Skye include the dramatic Old Man of Storr walk, the Neist Point Lighthouse, and Dunvegan Castle. Meanwhile, the capital town of Portree is home to a number of cosy restaurants and pubs to relax in after spending a day exploring the island.
Elsewhere, the Lake District topped the list, surpassing 4.9 million posts on Instagram. The scenic region in Cumbria is a popular holiday spot that is renowned for its array of lakes and mountainous scenery, which make it a popular attraction for hikers or those seeking a beautiful view.
An InsureMy spokesperson commented: "With the ongoing cost of living crisis, many people are choosing to forego a trip abroad and stay in Britain.
"These findings feature various iconic attractions or destinations in the country. For instance, the Lake District and Peak District are great spots for hikers and campers, while Big Ben and Buckingham Palace are ideal for those interested in historical attractions.
"The list has something suitable for every Brit, with a harmonious blend of cultural significance, historical importance, and natural splendour, vividly portraying the essence of Britain."
