The Brooklyn brownstone featured in Spike Lee’s semi-autobiographical movie “Crooklyn” sold last week for $4.15 million, setting a local record. With 3,600-square-feet of living space, the sale set the price-per-square-foot record for the neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant with a valuation of nearly $1,153 per square foot. Completed for a Chicago couple in 1951, a Seattle home designed by an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright is pending sale after only five days on the market. Home Sales Are More Robust in Delhi Than in Mumbai
Home sales in Delhi have outpaced those in Mumbai by 78.8% over the last four years, according to a study by CRE Matrix Research, an India-based real estate data company. Like most international cities, sales rose during the pandemic, and stamp duty cuts also helped fuel property demand. However, prices were higher in Delhi, where the most expensive home sold in 2022 was Rs 265 crore ($32.27 million), compared to the most expensive Mumbai home selling for Rs 144 crore (US$17.5 million). Australian television host Cliff Guy is selling his off-the-grid estate outside of Coffs Harbour, a city on the coast of New South Wales for A$2.8 million (US$1.88 million). Known as “Wild Guy Station” after Mr. Guy’s Wild Guy brand, the 115-acre property is close to Oscar-winning Russell Crowe’s Nana Glen ranch, as well as the estates of other Hollywood celebrities.
