Are you someone who loves travelling and, at the same time, is looking for a new job? Then here’s a great opportunity: the Singapore Airlines (SIA) is conducting walk-in interviews to recruit cabin crew.
The interviews will be held on Jun 30 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre’s Cassia Ballroom. Registration will open from 8.30am to 2pm.
Those interested will have to be at least 18 years old and a minimum qualification of five GCE ‘O’ Level credits including English, or Higher Nitec and above.
They must also be fluent in English with good communication skills.
Male applicants are required to be at least 1.65m-tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.58m-tall. The height requirement is to ensure they can carry out the safety and emergency procedures on board planes.
Applicants are also required to be service orientated and a good team player, as well as have a pleasant personality.
Those who are heading down for the interviews are required to bring along all the original and photocopies of the required documents, which includes their identity card, birth certificate, passport and educational certificates.
If applicable, they should also bring their marriage certificate, deed poll, entry/re-entry permit and any National Service certificate or transcripts.
They must also present their vaccination report from Health Hub through the TraceTogether app.
Those selected after the interviews will need to undergo a four-month training programme, during which they will receive a basic salary. The programme covers topics such as knowledge of food and beverages, service procedures, handling passengers, language and communication skills, safety equipment procedures and first aid.
Flying duties will only start after successful completion of the training programme. Upon commence of duties, an “attractive” salary package with allowances based on flight patterns and flying hours will be given.
The employment contract will run for five years initially. Additional five-year contracts may be offered based on job performance. Cabin crew will also get to enjoy perks such as a free flight to any SIA destination once a year, and discounted travels at other times.
Interested candidates must complete and bring along the application form on Singapore Airlines’ website.
