Smart Metering Systems PLC on Thursday said Chief Financial Officer Gavin Urwin will step down on December 1 to “take up another opportunity” as it named Gail Blain to replace him.
Shares were down 3.9% at 710.00 pence each on Thursday morning in London.
SMS is a Glasgow-based provider of end-to-end services in utility connections, smart metering and energy management.
It said it will name Blain as the new CFO and an executive director on that date. Blain is currently SMS’s finance controller, joining in 2016. The company said she has been involved in all areas of finance to the leadership team.
Prior to SMS, Blain worked at temporary power generation equipment supplier Aggreko PLC.
Chair Miriam Greenwood said: “Gail is a highly valued member of our senior management team who has worked side by side with Tim Mortlock for a number of years and has played an important role in delivering on the group’s financial strategy over the past six years.”
Tim Mortlock is chief executive officer of SMS.
