Sydney-based steakhouse 6HEAD has committed to a 10-year lease at Brookfield Properties’ One the Esplanade development, being the first hospitality tenant to sign up.
The signed lease includes an additional five-year option for the 419 square metre space, and adjoining alfresco area, in One the Esplanade.
Brookfield Properties confirmed this was the project’s first major retail tenancy, on the corner of Geoffrey Bolton Avenue and Duchess Way.
One the Esplanade is under construction, with builder Multiplex attached to the project, and is expected to be Chevron’s new Australian headquarters.
The $360 million, 29-storey mixed-use project was designed by architecture firm Hassell and received planning approval in early 2019.
It is expected to be completed early this year.
Brookfield Properties developments and property regional director Nick Ozich said leasing demand remained strong for One the Esplanade.
“We have now secured leases over 60 per cent of the retail space and 85 per cent of the office space, and we are in advanced, exclusive negotiations over the balance of space,” he said.
“6HEAD is just the type of operator we have been searching for to deliver a new dining experience for Perth foodies.
“This is a testament to the quality of the development and commitment to Elizabeth Quay as an exciting new work/play destination.”
The steakhouse is a part of Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group, which also manages Perth CBD restaurants including Meat and Wine Co, Ribs & burgers, Italian Street Kitchen, and Hunter & Barrel.
Seagrass chief executive Bradley Michael said the group had been searching for a location to open 6HEAD in Perth.

“After opening in 2019 in The Rocks in Sydney, 6HEAD has built a strong following for our unique twist on the contemporary steakhouse where guests can enjoy an outstanding dining experience.”
