Google's debut smartwatch will go on sale Oct. 13 for $350, the Alphabet Inc unit said on Thursday, taking on a field dominated by Apple Watch at a time when inflation-hammered consumers are shunning all forms of pricey wearables. At $100 more than Apple Inc's lowest-cost model and limited to people with Android phones, the Google Pixel Watch faces enormous obstacles to adoption, market analysts say. "The market is not as robust as it once was," said Jitesh Ubrani, a research manager at market intelligence firm IDC, adding that aggressive discounting will be crucial to Google.

The country's SMA environmental regulator said the main infractions were overextraction and construction outside of environmentally approved zones. WILMINGTON, Del. (Reuters) -A Delaware judge on Thursday ordered a halt to Twitter Inc's lawsuit against Elon Musk on the eve of trial, giving the billionaire time to finance his $44 billion takeover of the social media platform. The ruling followed days of uncertainty about Musk's intentions and removed the threat that the erratic entrepreneur would have to testify under oath this week about his claims that Twitter fraudulently misled him. The judge's order said if Musk, the world's richest person, failed to close by her Oct. 28 5 p.m. EDT deadline, she would schedule a trial for November.
U-turns are clearly in the air this week, with Elon Musk's volte face on buying Twitter on Tuesday following Britain's top rate tax cut reversal and this week's new-quarter relief bounce in stock markets. Of course many investors pray global central banks would join the British government and Musk in a similar rethink – but that's far less likely and reason enough for markets to sober up on Wednesday after the biggest two-day rally on Wall St since the pandemic hit in April 2020. British Prime Minister Liz Truss' speech to her annual party conference is also due and she's expected to insist the remainder of her fiscal plan remains intact.

Alphabet Inc.'s Google declined to comment. In May, Russian bailiffs seized funds from Google that it had been ordered to pay late last year.
