Dabiri-Erewa in her outburst, described some of her critics as unprogressive, retrogressive “Obidient” and labouring in vain after they scolded her not “to call God to do what she has been given powers to do.”
The Chairman, Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has insulted some Nigerians who engaged her on Twitter, asking her and the commission to put more efforts to evacuate stranded Nigerians in the troubled Sudan.
Dabiri-Erewa in her outburst, described some of her critics as unprogressive, retrogressive “Obidient” and labouring in vain after they scolded her not “to call God to do what she has been given powers to do.”
The Diaspora Commission Chairman had while reacting to complaints of Nigerians on Twitter and other social media platforms over government inaction to evacuate stranded Nigerians in war-torn North East Africa country, said that other countries citing United Kingdom had not evacuated their over 3000 nationals.
She wrote: “British diplomats! What about the over 3000 British citizens resident there? Complaining! We will not rescue only our diplomats and families and leave our thousands of students.
“All will be back. Safely! By God’s grace.” https://twitter.com/abikedabir
However, a citizen, @Prince_Bamidele responded, “Stop saying by God’s grace, Shey nah God’s grace Buhari employ? Always full of excuses, Late comers.”

Dabiri-Erewa however, engaged in trolls and throwing tantrum on the Nigerian.
She wrote: “Maybe that is why you have remained stagnant and un progressive , retrogressively “disobedient,” and labouring in vain because all you ve ever laid your hands on is by the grace of the devil you worship . Mr 83 followers.”

Meanwhile, her reaction to the Obidient’s tweet has generated angry reactions on Twitter, as Nigerians described her uncouthness as probably the reason why the part of “our foreign relations she handles is in shambles.”

SaharaReporters also reported in October 2022 that Dabiri-Erewa got involved in a dirty fight with a Nigerian whom she picked as an Obidient (Peter Obi supporter) on Twitter following the attack on Nigerian students in an Indian university.
On Monday, October 17, 2022, multiple reports stated that some Nigerian students at GD Goenka University in Gurugam, India were attacked.
Images on social media showed some Indian students with weapons chasing their Nigerian counterparts but Chairman of Diaspora Commission denied that they were Nigerians students.
She had explained that the incident happened on Saturday, October 15, 2022, following a football match between African and Indian students.

“This happened Sat (Saturday) as a result of a fracas, during a football match between African and Indian students. The Nigerian Mission immediately took custody of 86 Nigerian students, invited the representatives of the Indian government, and got their commitment to ensuring the safety of the students who then returned back to campus on Sunday”, she explained.
She, therefore called for calm, saying normalcy has been restored.
However, as netizens continue to discuss the attack on Nigerian students in India, a tweep, @sensegiver1, who identifies as a supporter of Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party verbally abused Abike, describing her as a ‘mumu woman’.
‘Mumu’ is a Pidgin English for a foolish person.
The tweep wrote: “She should go to Indonesia and see how Nigerians are treated. Mumu woman supporting a failed government. She’s equally part of the failure. Eye service!”

But Dabiri-Erewa fired back in the same coin describing the obidient as ‘Ode’, a Yoruba word for a foolish person.
She further thanked the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for saving his likes, who according to her “go to Indonesia, carry drugs, do cultism and come begging to be rescued from death sentence.”
