A Swiss app lets clients buy Bitcoins and hold them directly in their wallets, making proceeds instantly available.
Swiss Bitcoin app Relai is partnering with global digital payment provider checkout.com to allow clients to buy Bitcoin via VISA, Mastercard, and Apple Pay in real-time and around the clock, it said in an emailed statement Thursday.
Bitcoin purchases of up to 500 Swiss francs ($492 ) daily or 50,000 francs annually are allowed via the app without clients needing to go through the know your customer (KYC) process, the statement said. Users of the app will be able to instantly convert Bitcoin into Euros or Swiss Francs when they need to, no matter where they are in the world.
By contrast, when Bitcoins are held in an account involving a custodian, it can take up to four days before the funds are available.
Instant Liquidity
The instant liquidity gives users flexibility in the face of rising costs of living and high inflation while having full control over their Bitcoins via self-managed wallets, the statement said.
Relai CEO and co-founder Julian Liniger said the launch of the app means «we have finally achieved our goal of building the world’s easiest Bitcoin app,» which he hailed as a «world first!»
Checkout.com is a global payments provider, which supports much of the crypto industry, including 12 of the 15 largest crypto exchanges.
