Switzerland Tourism is inviting luxury travel agents to its ‘Meet the Swiss’ event, taking place 2-3 November at an opulent hotel in Marlow, Buckinghamshire
The free-to-attend networking event is offering an opportunity to meet Swiss suppliers including DMCs and hotels, take part in one-to-one workshops and enjoy recreational activities as well as fine food and drink.
Evelyn Lafone, head of trade UK & Ireland for Switzerland Tourism, says Meet the Swiss is “a perfect chance to get away from all the November madness for 24 hours and enjoy some great Swiss company and relaxation”.
Simon Calder will also be in attendance to take part in a Tea with Simon Calder session and share his insights into the current state of travel.
The event, which will take place at the Macdonald Compleat Angler Hotel in Buckinghamshire’s Marlow, comes as Switzerland Tourism aims to position itself as a key winter destination for luxury travellers.
“As winter is just around the corner, we want to make sure Switzerland is at the forefront of people’s minds,” says Lafone.
“Switzerland is unique in that we can offer not just a luxury holiday, but a unique holiday that cannot not be found anywhere else; and luxury agents are key for us in bringing this uniqueness to the clients.”
The tourist board has also partnered with Skate at Somerset House in London to highlight the country’s winter offering and will focus on promoting the Grand Train Tour of Switzerland in 2023 to encourage sustainable travel.
“Switzerland has for over 100 years been at the forefront of sustainable travel, and we will deepen our commitment further,” asserts Lafone.
“We are engaging on various platforms with luxury agents and will deepen this relationship in 2023 by showcasing our world-class hotels, health travel, luxury city and culture breaks, panorama travel and summer and winter holidays.”
Registrations for Meet the Swiss are being collected by TTG, with interested agents being asked to answer a question about the destination and submit their details by 24 October via an online form.
Registering doesn’t guarantee a place; successful candidates will be contacted by Switzerland Tourism with joining details ahead of the event.
