Dimitri Rtshiladze, the Perth bar boffin behind busy city basement haunt Foxtrot Unicorn and award-winning Fremantle restaurant Nieuw Ruin, will open his third bar in the birthplace of WA’s Anti-Fascist League.
The unassuming two-level small bar in the heart of Northbridge will be called Edward and Ida’s after left-wing couple Edward (or Bill) and Ida Beeby, who started the Patch Theatre at 267-269 William Street in the late 1930s. They launched the Anti-Fascist League there in 1940.
