Dear Reader,
Sir Michael Parkinson has died at the age of 88. Known as one of Britain’s most renowned interviewers, his chat show hosted the biggest stars of the 20th century including David Bowie, Muhammad Ali, John Lennon and Robert de Niro. Once he was wrestled to the ground hilariously by Rod Hull and his puppet Emu. “The only thing I was ever remembered for,” he complained many years later, “was being attacked by a f—–g emu.” As our enthralling obituary reveals, he will be remembered for much more than that.
Chris
