Danish architect Bjarke Ingels has unveiled the latest project: a nearly 250,000-acre Bhutan development dubbed Mindfulness City that will feature a series of “inhabitable bridges,” as well as an international airport and a hydroelectric dam incorporating a temple. Located in the town of Gelephu, near the Indian border in southern Bhutan, the development will be shaped by 35 rivers and streams that run through the site, with the bridges connecting the various neighborhoods. It’s the latest in a series of grand schemes for the BIG firm, with others including an octagon-shaped city in Saudi Arabia as part of Neom and a solar-powered community hub in Jordan. California Sales Dropped to the Lowest Level Since the Great Recession in November
Home sales in California dropped in November to the lowest level since the early 2000s, according to a new report from the California Association of Realtors. The number of single-family homes sold last month fell 7.4% month over month and 5.8% compared to the same time last year, the data showed. Meanwhile, the median home price declined 2.2% from October, but rose 6.2% compared to the same time last year. “Elevated mortgage interest rates and a persistent shortage of homes for sale hindered home sales in November,” said Melanie Barker, president of the association.
