Manchester has plenty to offer when it comes to staying in style in the city and suburbs.
From five-star luxury to quaint boutique rooms, to themed hotels and good quality of a budget, you're likely to find something to suit your needs.
Earlier we picked out the five that hadn't fared too well from TripAdvisor reviews.
So we thought we'd redress the balance.
Customer feedback site TripAdvisor has recognised Manchester's best hotels by rating them on a number of criteria, such as style, internet availability, room views, sleep quality and service.
Remember, the following list is compiled purely from guest reviews – so which places made the cut?
It's not surprising this five-star hotel is flying high in the ratings. Popular with the rich and famous, especially those flocking to the nearby Manchester Arena to play a gig, The Lowry is a beacon for lavish parties and even home to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
It also boasts some of the most exclusive suites in the city.

The boutique hotel style is growing in popularity and King Street Townhouse is one of the newest arrivals on the scene. It has a number of quirky features, such as stand-alone bathtubs overlooking Albert Square to a rooftop infinity pool and terrace bar.
It also specialises in hosting weddings, with a personal event manager available to the bride and groom.

Themed hotels run the risk of falling into the tacky trap – but not this one. Hotel Football is the brainchild of Manchester United's Class of 92 and is in prime position overlooking Old Trafford.
There is a rooftop pitch for five-a-side matches that also doubles up as a stunning event space with views stretching for miles and it's even been used as a gig venue.
Each room has subtle football-related touches such as limited edition prints and personalised player toiletries and other features include a free mini bar and in-room Sky Sports. Fan heaven.

This one is something of a hidden gem. It's reputation is solid and it's known for its character, charm and offering something a bit more at the boutique end of the market.
The decor and style is contemporary with a hint of vintage but still cool.
Part of the successful Eclectic Hotels Group, GJS stands alone in offering a large, heated terrace area, award-winning afternoon tea and has the feel of a period home rather than a hotel as it is located inside an old school house.
The rooms all look different and have their own identity. Also – outdoor hot-tub.

Another boutique-style place to stay, from the owners of the Great John Street Hotel, Didsbury House offers something classy and luxurious a little out-of-town in the South Manchester 'burbs.
It is also a popular venue for weddings and functions, due to its quaint size and attention to detail. Pretty as a picture.

Situated in the heart of the trendy Norther Quarter district.
It's cool, homely, unusual and kitsch. It also doubles up as a pub, so you can enjoy a drink or two with the comfort of knowing you won't have far to stumble up to bed.
The Abel Heywood is billed as 'no ordinary hotel' and we won't argue with that – and by the sounds of the reviews, neither will its guests.

Recently voted the best boutique hotel in the world, Hotel Gotham is dark, moody and full of character and individuality.
The trendy art-deco hotel is housed inside a former bank and boasts an exclusive rooftop bar and private members club, Club Brass.
To keep things nostalgic and true to the vintage heritage of the building, bell boys welcome guests in the lobby then they'll find typewriters on the walls, briefcases for light fittings and moneybag-style laundry bags.

Smack bang in the middle of the city centre, this hotel may be part of a huge chain, but its certainly has its own outstanding features.
Huge beds and rooms at great rates, funky and contemporary decor with cleanliness and guest comfort a top priority. It's new and fresh and ideal for anyone looking for a place to stay in the thick of the shops and bars Manchester has to offer.

Another one from the Eclectic stable, this is a petite Victorian townhouse hotel on the outskirts of Manchester, just down the road from it's relative, the Didsbury House Hotel.
Each of its 20 rooms are individually designed and the hotel has a dedicated residents bar and a peaceful walled garden. One for those who don;t need to stand out to find a stylish getaway.

Located on the edge of Chinatown, this aparthotel may be part of a (small) chain, but like with the Holiday Inn, it's easy to forget once you've stepped inside.
The beautiful Victorian building has been transformed, making sure the original features have been restored and rooms offer kitchenettes and plenty of space for families and bigger groups.
