Amazon Luna has a good selection of multiplayer games, and these are the best on the streaming service.
Amazon Luna seeks to make gaming as accessible as possible. Through cloud technology, subscribers can jump into a game with a single click. The only things they need are a compatible device, a decent internet connection, and a controller. There is no need to download games or own a modern console; simply open Google Chrome, visit the Amazon Luna home page, and get started.
Now, such a service would be pointless if it did not have a diverse selection of games that cater to all sorts of players or situations. For instance, multiplayer games might not be everyone's cup of tea, but for some people, that's all they ever drink. Therefore, Amazon Luna naturally has a pretty great selection of titles designed to bring people together (and pit them against each other). Depending on the game, Amazon Luna can support online or local PvP.
The best local co-op games on Amazon Luna will not be included as they have a separate article.
Starting with a free-to-play game might be strange, however, Smite is an absolutely huge property and perhaps not everyone has a system that can run the MOBA. Debuting in 2014 and still going strong, Smite includes over a hundred gods and goddesses for players to pick from, all of which came with their own abilities that will require some getting used to.
MOBAs are unique beasts since they are simultaneously popular and extremely niche, particularly once they have been out for a few years. That said, Smite is one of the better entry points into the genre.

An arcade gem that made its way to homes, Killer Queen Black pits two teams of four players in a struggle to achieve one of three victories, all of which require commitment and careful planning. Played on a single screen, this game manages to be both simple and strategically complex as players need to not only focus on their companions' actions but also try to counter the moves of their opponents.
Killer Queen Black might not have the same name recognition as some of the best multiplayer games on Amazon Luna, but it is fun, compelling, and addictive. Although matches can get quite intense, this game does not depend on quick reflexes, making it quite compatible with a cloud gaming service.

Like so many life service games, The Division 2 has changed considerably since its launch, and that goes beyond just new content (although there has been a LOT of that as well). Nowadays, Ubisoft's RPG shooter has developed into a robust package that features solid progression, loot, and story missions.
The Ultimate Edition includes the Warlords of New York expansion, which is pretty much a must-own at this point in the game's life. Newcomers tempted to dive into this world can look forward to dozens upon dozens of hours of content, and The Division 2 can be enjoyed both solo or with other players.

Tumblestone is deceptively brilliant. On the surface, this release looks like a bog-standard match-three type game, but it only takes a few turns to realize that assessment misses the mark. Tumblestone is a proper puzzler, in that players have to carefully plot out their moves to clear out a board. There is a right way to win each level, and these paths are often challenging to decipher.
Tumblestone gives solo players a lot of content to play through, so this is not just a multiplayer option. For those who want to face off against a friend, the game supports local PvP on Amazon Luna.

Amazon Luna has a decent selection of fighting games, most of which support local PvP in some form or another. Consequently, picking one over the other comes down to personal preference, and people who prefer the "classics" should check out Luna's Retro channel since it is backed with delights from yesteryear. The Luna+ channel also has two fighting games, both of which are solid options for anyone who does not mind a healthy dose of anime.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is a crossover fighting game that includes characters from Persona 4 Arena, RWBY, and Under Night In-Birth, along with fighters from the eponymous franchise. Unlike other BlazBlue releases, Cross Tag Battle focuses on 2v2 battles and, more importantly, has far more accessible gameplay. The story mode is not all that good, but the combat system is a lot of fun and really comes alive in PvP.

Except for classics like chess, Monopoly is probably the most famous board game of all time. Many people have squabbled over real estate as they spend hours upon hours acquiring and losing wealth while quietly mounting resentment for every other competitor. Who does not love family game night?
If an Amazon Luna subscriber wants to play the traditional Monopoly, they should try Ubisoft+'s Monopoly Plus. For those who want something a bit different,
Monopoly Madness is the way to go. Providing a fresh take on the formula, this title significantly changes the franchise's core mechanics and flow to provide a more accessible and less demanding experience. This is a party game through and through, one that prioritizes short and intense play sessions over long, drawn-out matches, and it finds players frantically bidding to acquire as many resources as possible within a time limit. Monopoly might not sound exciting, but Madness is one of the best multiplayer games on Amazon Luna.

With Redout 2 set to drop on June 16, 2022, this is the perfect time for someone to check out the original game to see if the sequel might be of interest to them. Now, 2016's Redout is mainly worth picking up for the single-player modes, and the futuristic arcade racer's gameplay is pretty fun and does a solid job of filling the void left by franchises like Wipeout.
The game supports local PvP, allowing two players to race against each other using split-screen. Although limited in scope, this multiplayer feature does add another dimension to the overall package, and the lack of online support is not a big loss since Redout does not have a particularly active community.

Putting aside a somewhat rough launch, Rainbow Six Siege has been consistently among the best multiplayer games on the market for the last half a decade. A tactical shooter that places a heavy emphasis on coordination and teamwork, Siege has a diverse roster of operators that all come with their strengths and weaknesses, and a group's success will largely come down to their ability and willingness to synergies their chosen characters.
Now, Rainbow Six Siege was not the most accessible shooter when it originally hit the scene, and the entry barrier has only grown harsher as the game developed its core playerbase. Consequently, newcomers might find themselves initially overwhelmed by the experience, so they should turn to the community if they would like pointers.
Amazon Luna's Ubisoft+ channel includes access to the Ubisoft Connect PC app, allowing PC owners to also download games. If viable, this option is worth considering for Rainbow Six Siege.

Here is a channel designed almost exclusively to cater to multiplayer, as there are only a handful of mini-games that can be played solo. Jackbox Games are tailor-made for a party setting, and Amazon Luna presents arguably the most cost-effective way to gain access to all the franchise's packs.
Containing 40 mini-games covering a wide array of subtypes such as "Drawing" and "Trivia," the Jackbox Games comes with a huge amount of content capable of ensuring that the laughter keeps on coming. Some of the best mini-games are Drawful, Fibbage, and Quiplash.

Pong might be the perfect game. Or, to be more specific, it might be the most intuitive game of all time. Even if someone has never touched a controller in their life, a quick glimpse at the screen is likely all they will need to understand Pong. Yes, this game is the definition of basic, but it also just makes sense in a way that only a small handful of licenses do.
As a multiplayer PvP experience, Pong is completely skill-based. There is no way to cheat or shift the odds in a player's favor; the winner always earns their bragging rights. Pong can be as fun as going to an arcade and playing a match of air hockey, and it can be just as competitive.
