NABLUS, Tuesday, June 27, 2023 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) today strongly condemned the Israeli army arrest of journalist Mohammad Anwar Muna, 41, during a raid at his home in the northern West Bank city of Nablus earlier this morning and terrorizing his wife and children.
“The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate condemns this criminal act against the colleague Muna, which came one day after the world commemorated the International Day against Torture and a day before the world celebrates Eid al-Adha,” it said, explaining that this is the seventh time Muna is being arrested and he spent nearly seven years, intermittently, in prison under administrative detention without charge or trial.
PJS called on all international and human rights organizations and the International Federation of Journalists to denounce the arrest of Muna and to intervene immediately to put pressure on the Israeli occupation state for his immediate release.
It also urged providing protection for journalists from the occupation attacks, and pressure on the International Criminal Court to continue the investigation and prosecution of the Israeli murderers of colleagues Shireen Abu Akleh, Ahmad Abu Hussein and Yasser Murtaja.
