An unbelievably beautiful Westcountry seaside town has been judged the best place to live in the UK. The Devon beach resort landed the top spot on a poll by Muddy Stilettos to find the most popular residential locations outside of London.
The website has pulled together its annual shortlist of the top 250 places, with eight to 10 locations from each county, Devon Live reports. It's now been revealed that Exmouth has been crowned the national winner.
Muddy Stilettos' judges raved about the area's golden sands, good travel connections to Exeter, attractions for “outdoorsy types” and “increasingly swanky hospitality.” And it seems TripAdvisor reviewers agree the location is very special.

One person wrote: "Fabulous beach, one of my favourite places. Wonderful at any time of year! Lovely restaurants to meet everyone's pocket."
Another said: "This seems like the south coast secret, wish I’d known about it years ago. It’s also very close to other little places like Budliegh Salterton and Sidmouth whose beaches that are brilliant. Found a couple of good restaurants for families and stayed in the Premier Inn which is nearly ON the beach."
The town also homes a popular Birds of Prey flying display and deer train at World of Country Life. One reviewer said: "Excellent family day out something for everyone from children play to feeding animals or looking at vintage cars and motorcycles. Lots of places for picnics."
