This season, we had kids who go grocery shopping, kids who take bus rides, and kids who make deliveries and retrieve ‘lost’ belongings.
For example, brother and sister pair Kai Chen and Joy had to walk all the way to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park to deliver two cups of bubble tea.
On a show like this, there is always the possibility that the kids will give up. But the siblings gamely tackled the challenge. Producer Li Xinzhuo said, “They surprised me when they remained each other’s cheerleaders through all the setbacks along the way.”
Parents were also often amazed. They got to see their children be independent and capable in ways they never imagined.
And no, the crew does not help or direct the children. The entourage of adults you see is there simply for their safety; the children lead, we follow.
Many have also asked us if the children know they are being filmed. Some of the kids do eye us suspiciously, but none have acknowledged the cameras. I think they were all really focused on completing their missions!
Watch the fourth and final episode this Friday here. (And ICYMI, you can also catch up on seasons 1 and 2 here.)
