Hong Kong Home Prices Likely to Drop Further Next Year
While interest rate hikes in Hong Kong may be curbed for the foreseeable future, don’t expect property prices to remain similarly stagnant. Industry insiders are predicting price slippage for homes in the city from 3% to as much as 10%. Though more hikes may not be coming, interest rates remain elevated in Hong Kong—coupled with an abundant supply of homes—leading most real estate professionals to forecast further price falls in 2024. Property prices in Hong Kong have fallen by almost 20% since their historic peak in 2021. South China Morning Post
Home Sales Skyrocketed in Singapore in November
After a somewhat lackluster October, new private home sales in Singapore more than tripled month-over-month in November. Sales of new private homes were up 286.2%, with 784 units sold, far outpacing October’s transactions. The November totals were the highest number of complete deals for new private homes in four months and were due in no small part to the launch of three new developments—J’Den, Hillock Green and Watten House. Perth Is Home to Australia’s Fastest-Selling Suburbs
While Brisbane may take the crown as the fastest-selling capital city, Perth reigns supreme when it comes to capital city suburbs. Homes in Brookdale, Seville Grove and Camillo—all in Perth’s South East—took the top spots nationally when it came to speed of sale, with properties in those suburbs selling in nine, 10 and 12 days, respectively. On the opposite side of the spectrum are the suburbs of Darwin, where homes were taking 60 days or more to find a buyer, making them the slowest sales in the nation. realestate.com.au
