Simple Australian Coastal Cottage Asks Upward of A$2 Million
A humble 1960s coastal cottage in New South Wales, Australia, might not look like luxury at first glance, but its coveted location makes the property a top-notch offering and it’s on the market with a price guide of A$2.1 million to A$2.3 million (US$1.4 million to US$1.5 million). The property is in Brunswick Heads, a beach town 15 minutes north of Byron Bay, and consists of a three-bedroom cottage behind a wire fence and a separate, two-bedroom apartment. Agents suggest the cottage could be transformed into a “luxurious coastal retreat.” Domain
Pop Singer Sabrina Carpenter Buys Recently Updated 1930s Hollywood Hills Home
Singer-actress Sabrina Carpenter has snapped up a newly redesigned Los Angeles home in the Hollywood Hills. The former Disney star paid about $4.4 million for the nearly 3,500-square-foot home, which was initially listed for just under $4.8 million. Design-developer duo House of Rolison purchased the 1930s house nine months ago for $2.3 million. They reimagined the dated space by adding design details like wide plank oak floors, vaulted oak ceilings, vintage Spanish Revival-style lighting and arched windows looking out toward the city. The four-bedroom home sits on a full half-acre, a rare amount of space in the hills. Robb Report
London Homes Over £10 Million Have Sold at Fastest Pace in Eight Years in 2023
Uber-luxury home sales in London registered their highest showing in 2023 in eight years, according to a report from Knight Frank. There were 175 deals for homes priced at £10 million (US$12.7 million) or more annually in November, the data showed. That’s down from the 2014 record of 225 transactions, when high-end sales leapt just before the introduction of higher rates of stamp duty for properties above £1 million. However, the annual total for 2023 is set to be even higher, as a number of big deals go through in December, including the £138 million purchase of a Mayfair mansion by Indian billionaire Adar Poonawalla, known as “the vaccine prince” due to his family’s vast vaccine factories.
