A janitor has transformed a “super dirty” pan into “brand new again” after using an $8 supermarket buy.
Brandon, from the US, has shared a TikTok video showing how he used Bar Keepers Friend, available at Woolworths and Coles, to remove years worth of grease and grime from a $A6 pan he purchased from an op shop.

The third generation janitor – whose family has been in the cleaning industry for more than 40 years – was amazed with the results after he lifted the stubborn build-up in a matter of minutes – without spending hours scrubbing.
“I was recently wandering the aisles at a thrift store and this super dirty pan caught my eye,” Brandon said.
“I got to be honest, I just had the urge to clean it so I bought it. And that’s what we’re going to do.”
The professional cleaner says his go-to product has “always been” Bar Keepers Friend, a chemical-free all-purpose powder cleanser for tough stains.
The video shows him putting a tape down the middle of the pan so he can show viewers the “before” and “after” transformation.
He then sprinkles a generous amount of the cleaning powder over one side of the pan.
“I grabbed a damp sponge, turned the powder into a paste and applied it to the area that I’m cleaning,” he explained.
“Now if you’re like me, you might have the urge to just start scrubbing and really get to work.
“But the key here is to give it time so I give it about 10 minutes to really break down that grease and grime that’s baked and burnt on this pan.
“Then I came through with a scrubber and boy did that just melt away. It made it so much easier for cleaning.”
Brandon said he spent no more than four minutes scrubbing one side of the pan.
“I think it worked pretty well,” he raved.
He removed the tape to show the spectacular result alongside the dirty half of the pan.
“You might be wondering, why on earth did I put tape on there if I’m just going to clean the entire pan?” he said.
“You’re not wrong but I got to be honest, I just wanted to see this super satisfying ‘before’ and ‘after’ side-by-side transformation.”
After scrubbing the other side of the pan, he started wondering how much the pan was worth when it was brand new.
“I did a quick Google search and I think this pan is like $A198 which is absolutely crazy and super cool,” he said.
