PRODUCTION / FUNDING Luxembourg / Netherlands / United Kingdom
by Davide Abbatescianni
– The English-language drama, a Luxembourgish-Dutch-British co-production, now entered post-production
It’s a wrap for Poison, the debut feature by Luxembourgish TV host and actress Désirée Nosbusch, who has recently starred in the TV series Bad Banks and Capitani. The news was first reported by Screen International.
In detail, the English-language drama will star English star Tim Roth (who recently appeared in Michel Franco’s Sundown [+see also:

An adaptation of the play of the same name penned by Dutch writer Lot Vekemans, Poison follows a middle-aged man who is reunited with his ex-wife in a waiting room, after many years apart. They are preparing to exhume the body of their late son, owing to toxins seeping into the ground where he is buried.
Filmed in Luxembourg and the Netherlands with a total budget of €3.9 million, the project also received support from Film Fund Luxembourg and the Netherlands Film Fund.
Poison is being staged by Alexandra Hoesdorff and Katharina Haase for Luxembourg-based Deal Productions, and co-produced by Petra Goedings for Dutch firm Phanta Film and Vivien Muller-Rommel and Michael Lehmann for the UK’s The Studio Hamburg. Paradiso Filmed Entertainment is in charge of its Benelux rights. The film is slated for release in Q4 2022.
