How the structure united (eventually) Sydneysiders

Dear Mr. Com,
Hard to believe now, but when construction began a century ago on Sydney’s Harbour Bridge, some viewed it as an arch villain. The harbor was pretty, but it transected the city. Some wanted to pave it over.
Instead, a designer decided to build the span in such a way that it united a city and changed its future.
Sydney dared to follow its dreams, just as Silversea travelers do when they strike out for parts unknown. It’s a great reminder of this travel maxim: Why settle for the ordinary when the extraordinary is just a small step away?
Stay curious.

HOW SYDNEY MINDED THE GAP AND CHANGED ITS FUTURE |
|
One group of workers started building a bridge on one side of the harbor, and the other started from the opposite side. That left little opportunity for error. See how one visionary, who built with daring and confidence, paved the way for the sparkling Sydney you will see today.
