Mercedes-Benz Announces First Residential Tower to Be Built in Dubai
The luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz is entering the real estate market with Mercedes-Benz Places, and the first branded residential skyscraper will be built in Dubai. The company will partner with Emirati developer Binghatti to build a 65-story residential tower standing approximately 1,118 feet above the city. The luxury residence is set to be near the Dubai Mall, the Museum of the Future and Burj Khalifa. A launch event is planned for January. Hypebeast
A Coastal Australian Home Offers Unique Living
On the coast of South Australia, a “floating” tower is on the market with a price guide of A$1.575 million (US$1.03 million). The three-story home, known as the Seagull House, has almost 360-degree views over nearby towns and tourist attractions, including Venus Bay and Sandy Point. The unique home “appears to float above the ground,” the listing said. “On arrival you’re struck by the striking, sculptural, bespoke design. Australian Renters Having the Toughest Time in Adelaide
Adelaide still has the tightest rental market in Australia, despite its vacancy rate easing slightly last month, new data reveals. Latest PropTrack figures show the percentage of rental properties that are empty and available for lease rose 0.03 percentage points in November, increasing the level to 0.7%. It is the lowest capital city vacancy rate in the country just behind Perth’s 0.73%, while Darwin had the highest at 2.63%. realestate.com.au
Angela Landsbury’s Children to Keep the Late Actress’s Irish Home
Angela Landsbury’s Irish estate is reportedly staying in the family. A number of properties once belonging to the award-winning “Murder She Wrote” actress have hit the market since her death last year at the age of 96. But the white-washed seaside farmhouse she owned in Cloyne, County Cork, will remain in a trust to benefit her children, who don’t plan to sell. She and her husband bought the underlying land in 1992. It’s now worth an estimated €1.2 million (US$1.29 million). Sunday World
