According to a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey, unhappiness with the direction of the country remains in place with President Joe Biden’s approval flat at 43 percent.
Additionally, a majority of American voters continue to say their financial situation is becoming worse, with four in 10 voters believing the country is in a recession.
Another four in 10 think it will be in a recession next year.
Among GOP voters polled, Trump’s support in a 2024 primary fell 9 points to 46%, while DeSantis rose 11 points to 28%.
In a hypothetical 2024 presidential race, DeSantis runs even with Biden and beats Harris by 3 points.
These are the results from the monthly collaboration between the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard (CAPS) and the Harris Poll and HarrisX.
However, it’s important to note that in the past several years, poll results have struggled to capture accurate overviews.
As talk about the 2024 Presidential election swirls—billionaire Elon Musk held his own poll on Twitter.
Musk asked users to vote on whether to reinstate former President Donald Trump.
A little more than 15-million Twitter users voted in the poll with 51.8% voting in favor of reinstatement.
Trump has 87.5-million followers on Twitter compared to President Biden’s 36.4-million followers.
Following the reinstatement news, the former president said via video when asked whether he planned to return to Twitter by a panel at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting, “I don’t see any reason for it.”

President Joe Biden is welcoming French President Emmanuel Macron to the White House for the first official state visit since the Democrats took power in 2021.
The festivities mark a return to more ceremonial and diplomatic events that were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said France is the United States’ oldest ally on several critical issues and a “vital global partner.”
The meeting comes as there are many global issues facing both countries.
“If you look at what’s going on in Ukraine, look at what’s going on in the Indo-Pacific and the tensions with China, France is really at the center of all those things,” Kirby said.
“And so, the President felt that this was exactly the right and the most appropriate country to start with for state visits.”
While a state visit is one of the most glamorous events held at the White House—it is also serious business.
The visit kicks off with an elaborate arrival ceremony, followed by a press conference between the two leaders capping off with an evening black-tie dinner.
Officials in both countries are celebrating the visit as recognition of Francis status as America’s oldest ally.

In the words of Emmanuel Macron, the French Baguette is “250 grams of magic and perfection.”
Soft in the centre with a crusty and crunchy exterior, there’s no wonder they’re adored by millions every year.
And now there’s a new reason to celebrate the culinary delight after UNESCO gave French Baguettes heritage status.

The UN agency granted “intangible cultural heritage status” to the tradition of making the bread stick and the lifestyle surrounding them.
Over six billion are baked annually, but the industry is currently suffering through a challenging time.
France has been losing around 400 artisanal bakeries per year since 1970, from 55,000 to 35,000 today.
The decline is due to a combination of factors including the increase of industrial bakeries and supermarkets in rural areas.
It’s hoped this new heritage status will help breathe life back into the bakers’ delight.

Jeffrey Epstein’s estate will pay a $155m settlement to the U.S. Virgin Islands for using the territory for sex-trafficking.
The convicted sex offender used the region as a base for his sex-trafficking operation.
The settlement will be paid in cash but lawyers say this is not an admission of liability.
The estate’s executors are also denying wrongdoing.
Another fund for victims of Epstein will receive over $100m in compensation.
It follows the territory’s attorney general saying Epstein bought the island to stop people from monitoring him, and from his victims escaping.
The 66-year-old died in August 2019 while awaiting his trial on sex trafficking charges.
