The new project on the creation of an Electronic Data Interchange System, which will become the backbone for all future interagency data communication will continue the efforts of UNDP to accelerate digital transformation in Turkmenistan under the Memorandum of Understanding with “Turkmenaragatnashyk” Agency signed in March 2022 aiming to strengthen the country's digital capacity in statistics, banking, finance, customs, civil registration and other public services.

Merjen Saparmyradova graduated from the International Turkmen-Turkish University with a degree in software engineering and system administration. She believes that knowledge in technology and increased participation of women and girls in the development of digital solutions can play an important role in building a sustainable future.
Ogulshirin Tacheva is a fourth-year student studying biotechnology and ecology and environmental management at the Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan. Since her childhood Ogulshirin loved nature and dreamed of contributing to the fight against climate change.
“I started learning how to live an environmentally friendly life and tried to encourage others towards sustainability. I realized that all my peers also know very little about environmental issues.” It was then that Gulnara came up with a brilliant idea – to open a blog on her social media account to raise public awareness and encourage behavioral change in favor of the planet.
Mahliye – our schoolteacher of biology is a young champion in promoting the ideas of rational use of natural resources, reasonable consumption and waste treatment through fun and engaging education. Mahliye inspires her students to start caring, get engaged and take an action introducing something very new for the local communities – promotion of environmental awareness and behavior change for nature.
Together with other UN Agencies and national partners UNDP works on improving the system of social protection through the introduction of inclusive quality community-based social services in the framework of a Joint Programme funded by the Joint SDGs Fund.
