UNDP with the financial support from the Government of Japan has installed 20 small agrometeorological stations in the Fergana Valley. The access to agrometeorological data will enable farmers to implement climate-informed planning, reduce farming costs, and improve product quality.
UNDP Uzbekistan has been operating in the country since 1993 and has cooperated with the Government on finding solutions to national development challenges. UNDP assistance in Uzbekistan focuses on two overall, inter-linked objectives; to support the Government in advancing economic and democratic reforms; and strengthening and fostering the participation of civil society in development processes at national and local levels. UNDP works in three thematic areas – inclusive and sustainable growth, inclusive and democratic governance, climate change and environment.
UNDP Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Government of Uzbekistan supports the implementation and delivery of SDGs in two priority areas: Combating gender bias and stereotypes to expand women’s political and economic participation; promoting, employment and decent job opportunities, and contributing to ending gender-based violence. UNDP in Uzbekistan integrates gender equality principles across its all areas of work: effective governance, inclusive growth and environment and climate action.
