A security perimeter has been installed at the Pont Jean-Pierre Büchler in the capital after an unexploded WWII bomb was discovered during construction works.
A team from the Luxembourg Army’s demining service has begun work at the site of the discovery.
Police are currently evacuating the area, including residences and businesses within the security perimeter, which stretches as far as the service station in Bonnevoie.
Roads leading to the station, including rue de Hollerich and rue de Strasbourg, are also currently closed to traffic as part of the security perimeter.
All train services running to and from the capital’s main station have been suspended until further notice.
CFL added they would implement alternative travel options and asked passengers to check the cfl.lu website for further information before they travel.
CFL later announced that they plan to start gradually operating trains again as of 6.00 p.m. on Monday.
