The Buc-ee’s in Temple, Texas.
Somehow, Texas Buc-ee’s fans have found another TikTok about their favorite gas station and they are blowing it up. The TikTok from a user who goes by “Cody” from Atlanta posted a six-second video from Paris, France and asks, “Hold on. Hold on. They got a Buc-ee’s in France?”
The camera then pans over to show some store with the name Le Buci. A quick Google search reveals that the storefront belongs to a restaurant called Café le Buci. It’s clearly not a Buc-ee’s but Cody says it with a Texas drawl that would make Matthew McConaughey Texas fans probably want it to be true.
The TikTok was posted on Thursday, June 1, and has 2.5 million views and over 405,000 likes as of Friday, June 2.
Texans in the comments acknowledge that the mention of Buc-ee’s had TikTok’s algorithm working “overtime” to reach the gas station’s birthplace.
“Bro, are you in Paris France or Paris Texas?” asks user Downsouthie with the top comment on the TikTok.
As for the pronunciation of the Le Buci, Google Translate says it’s pronounced like “lay boosee.” We’ve all seen how this pronunciation of Buc-ee’s fared for out-of-towners who were clearly confused. But the pronunciation has actually turned into a hilarious sound on TikTok dubbed “First time at bussies.”
The trend, started by TikToker Noah Williams, has other Texans jumping on the bandwagon and showing off their trip to Buc-ee’s.
