Southern Indiana Center for Independent Living is hosting its 10th Annual Fishtival on Sept. 10 at the Paynetown- Twin Oaks Shelter located on beautiful Lake Monroe. This fun event includes fishing, boat rides, carnival games, and lunch! SICIL is looking for six volunteers to help with games, assist folks on and off boats, help them fish, and hand out food. Registration is required of all volunteers and participants so they can receive a free park pass and a free lunch. The last day to register is Sept. 1. Volunteer ushers assure that IU Cinema patrons have an exceptional experience. Sometimes that means greeting patrons warmly, tearing their tickets, and handing out programs. Other times, ushers will answer questions about the Cinema and the films, address patron feedback, or ensure patron comfort and safety during screenings. Ushers are required to volunteer at least five shifts per semester — but they can volunteer much more if wanted. Feel free to volunteer with friends and family. Scaly Tailz Wish List
Scaly Tailz needs your help! Scaly Tailz offers fun and educational reptile demonstrations to a wide variety of classrooms, schools, libraries, expos, conventions, festivals, groups, daycares, elder care centers, health campuses, and others. Scaly Tailz also takes in reptiles and amphibians that have been abandoned, as well as those that just need a new and loving home. The animals are the ones who benefit the most from the Wish List, but their wishes also help their crew to perform their duties better and promote Scaly Tailz services.
