The British Kebab Awards have released the names of restaurants that have made the shortlist.
The awards are run in association with Just Eat and are supported by the Kebab Alliance, the sector’s trade body.
The Kebab Alliance is in its eleventh year and recognises and champions the efforts of local kebab takeaways and restaurants across the UK.
The winners of the national award will be crowned in February. Among the restaurants that have made it to the finals are:
Yasar’s Kitchen – 8, Blackhorse Lane, London, E17 6HJ
Yasar’s Kitchen serves authentic food from Istanbul and Anatolia.
They aim to be a “hearty and welcoming” restaurant with a “friendly atmosphere and staff who treat people like part of the family.”
Mannoush Lebanese Restaurant – 230 High St, London, E17 7JH
Based in Walthamstow, this restaurant sells everything from soups to sandwiches and, of course, kebabs.
Star Catering Supplies Ltd – Forest Trading Estate, 6 Priestley Way, Walthamstow, London, E17 6AL

Charcoal Edgware describes itself as a traditional Turkish barbecue restaurant that also offers catering to parties and events.
Sami’s Restaurant – 157 Brent St, London, NW4 4DJ
This restaurant claims to offer “a taste of Israel” as an extension of “our personal history, our province, our region, our tribe, our grandma!”
Sami’s – 313 Hale Ln, Edgware, HA8 7AX
This is a Middle Eastern restaurant offering falafel, soups and salads alongside their kebabs.
Sami’s is just around the corner from Edgware tube station.
Ibrahim Dogus, founder of the British Kebab Awards and director of the recently formed Kebab Alliance, said: “Kebab eateries are a key part of the local community and it’s great to see so many entries at the end of a year that has tested every business operating in the hospitality sector.
“Getting to the shortlist is a real achievement given the competition across the country and all outlets should be rightly proud.
“We wish all finalists the best of luck.”
