On November 3, 2022, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone call with Indonesia's Coordinator for Cooperation with China and Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
Luhut first conveyed President Joko Widodo's sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, and once again extended congratulations on the complete success of the 20th National Congress of the Community Party of China (CPC). Luhut briefed Wang Yi on the preparations for the upcoming Group of Twenty (G20) Bali Summit with Indonesia as the host. He noted that as the world is confronted with unprecedented challenges such as geopolitical crises and sluggish economic recovery, China's role and cooperation are crucial. Indonesia expects to maintain close coordination with China to make the summit a success, and jointly safeguard world peace, tranquility, and development.
Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to President Joko, and briefed on the great achievements and far-reaching significance of the 20th CPC National Congress. He stressed that with General Secretary Xi Jinping at the helm, China will unswervingly make greater strides on the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, bringing stability and positive energy to the turbulent world. As two major developing countries and neighbors, China is ready to work with Indonesia to strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and make new contributions to regional and world peace and development in accordance with the general direction of building a community with a shared future established by the two heads of state.
Wang Yi stressed that China will firmly support Indonesia in fulfilling its duties as G20 Presidency to host a successful G20 summit, focus the summit on its own commitment, strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination, and jointly address severe challenges such as world economic sluggishness and disarray in global governance.
