That’s according to an update by Ukraine’s General Staff, released as of 18:00 local time on Thursday, October 13, Ukrinform reports.
The aggressor continues to focus its efforts on attempts to implement plans to advance to the administrative border of Donetsk region, as well as to hold captured ground in Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, and Mykolaiv regions. The enemy continues to put up resistance, pulling up reserves, pursuing a mobilization effort.
The Russians are shelling positions of Ukrainian troops along the entire contact line. Also, the enemy is fortifying its positions in separate directions and conducting aerial reconnaissance.
The enemy continues to attack critical infrastructure and civilian objects across Ukraine. In particular, such attacks were reported in Nalyvaikivka, Kyiv region, as well as in Mykolaiv and Nikopol. The enemy employed cruise, air-to-surface, and anti-aircraft guided missiles and Iranian-made kamikaze drones.
Throughout the current day, the Russians launched 15 air strikes and a missile strike, also carrying out 22 attacks using MLR systems.
According to the General Staff, the situation has not changed significantly in the Volyn and Polissia directions. The threat of missile and air strikes from the airspace and territory of the Republic of Belarus remains in place.
The enemy fired in multiple directions:
in the Siversk direction, the enemy fired mortars and barrel artillery in the areas of Atynske and Velyka Rybytsia.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the Russians attacked the areas of Hryanikyvka, Hatishche, and Strelecha using mortars, barrel and jet artillery.
In the Kramatorsk direction, enemy tanks and artillery of various types opened fire along the entire line of contact. In particular, in the districts of Bilohorivka, Terniv, and Yampolivka.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy tanks, mortars, barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Bakhmut, Bakhmutske, Zelenopillya, Soledar, Mayorsk, Ivangrad, and Yakovlivka.
In the Avdiivka direction, the aggressor inflicted fire damage employing tanks and artillery of various calibers on Maryinka, Nevelske, Pervomaiske, and Zolota Niva districts.
The enemy ran no offensive operations in the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhia directions. The settlements of Stepnohirsk, Orihiv, and Komyshuvakha were shelled.
In the Southern Buh direction, the enemy shelled Nikopol using MLR systems.
The Russian invaders continue to take Ukrainian children out of the temporarily occupied territories. Since early October, nearly 170 children were transported out of Kherson.
Russian private military companies continue to recruit prisoners for the war with Ukraine. According to available intelligence, on October 11-12, some 385 prisoners were recruited in correctional colony No. 16 of the city of Salavat, Bashkortostan.
"The enemy suffers losses on a daily basis. The Air Force carried out 19 strikes over this day. It has been confirmed that more than 13 enemy manpower and weapon clusters, as well as six anti-aircraft missile systems, have been hit. In addition, our air defense units shot down eight unmanned aerial vehicles. Six of them are Shahed-136s," the statement reads.
Throughout the day, missile forces and artillery hit two command and control points, three manpower and weapon clusters, and two ammunition depots.
In addition, on October 12, fire damage was inflicted on two enemy military facilities in the area of Burchak, Zaporizhia region. Enemy losses are being clarified.
As reported by Ukrinform, Russia’s military death toll in Ukraine has reached 63,800.
