Harry Styles has a penchant for dropping weird videos. But his latest is VERY weird and also a little disturbing

For his song, “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” a single from his Harry’s House album, the former One Direction member is literally the meal at said Sushi restaurant. He’s costumed in an elaborate squid outfit. Kind of like a mermaid thing. He’s also sporting a long bushy beard which renders him almost unrecognizable.
The action takes place in a fictional restaurant called “Gill’s Lounge.” The fake restaurant, by the way, even has its own website, where they refer to Harry as “The Catch of the Day.” Yum! “Our rotating menu changes with the tidi,’ a blurb on the website states, “And our chefs have just reeled in a big one!”
The video itself is like a nightmare. Fish guys find Harry the squid passed out on the ground, load him up on the truck, and then deposit him at the restaurant. Next, it’s time to prepare the dish. But the staff has to oil him up first! Sharpen their knives! Prepare the boiling water! All this happens against icky-squishy sound effects and a very jaunty beat.
All the while a nervous and sweaty Harry-squid looks on, looking just a tad nervous. The beard comes and goes, which is a litte weird. I guess they figure they have to shave him first. “Can I touch your tale?” A restaurant goer asks as he entertains the crowd. A little pre-dinner entertainment?

According to the Today Show, Harry spoke with NPR about the meaning behind the song “Music for a Sushi Restaurant.”
“I was in a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles with my producer and one of our songs came on from the last album,” he said. “I was like, ‘This is really strange music for a sushi restaurant.’ And then I was like — that would be a really fun album title, but then as the song started being made I kind of just set on ‘Music for a Sushi Restaurant.’”
Meanwhile, Harry continues to sell out concert dates and break box office records. Currently, he’s playing what amounts to a residency at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. On November 20, he heads to Mexico, and then on to Australia and New Zealand.
