RAMALLAH, Friday, February 3, 2023 (WAFA) – Weather today is cloudy and cold to very cold, particularly in the mountains, with sporadic rainfall, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Light to moderate westerly to southwesterly wind blows. Sea waves are low to medium.
Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 12°C and a low of 5°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 11°C and a low of 4°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 11°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 17°C and a low of 11°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
A low pressure is set to affect the region on Saturday, paving the way to cold to very cold conditions, particularly in the mountains, with scattered rainfall, possibly torrential, and a chance of isolated thunderstorms and hail.
Sunday’s temperature is set to rise, yet partly cloudy and cold to very cold conditions continue to prevail, particularly in the mountains. Occasional showers are expected accompanied by thunderstorms, with the chance of rain intensifying towards the night and gusty wind blowing at 70 km/h.
A low pressure and a more cold front are set to affect the region on Monday, causing temperature to drop and paving the way to very cold and stormy conditions, particularly in the mountains. Torrential rain showers are set to fall with isolated thunderstorms and hail with the possibility of the rain gradually spreading towards the center. Gusty wind will blow at 80 km/h.
PMD warns people against floods in flood-prone areas, gusty wind, slippery roads and low horizontal visibility.
