Prince Harry makes no mention of Meghan Markle‘s ‘estranged’ best friend Jessica Mulroney in his explosive new memoir Spare.
The Toronto-based stylist, 40, was among the Duchess’ best friends when she was living as an actress in Canada and at one stage, the pair were so close, that Meghan even called Jessica the night when Prince Harry proposed.
However it appeared as though they became distant in 2020 when the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding ‘white privilege’ while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matters movement.
As the backlash against Jessica built up, Meghan remained quiet and distant on the matter – and, despite using his publicity tour to defend Lady Susan Hussey, the Duke of Sussex has also made no mention of the stylist in his book or recent interviews.

Toronto based Jessica was one of Meghan’s closest pals prior to the apparent rift between the pair following Jessica’s comments about ‘white privilege’.
Meghan and Jessica were reportedly inseparable from the moment they met on the set of TV show Suits, however, reports from recent years have speculated their friendship may be on the rocks.
Her daughter Ivy was among the few little girls who served as Meghan’s bridesmaids, and she featured in a number of scenes in Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series.
In one episode, footage from the night the Sussexes got engaged in 2017 is aired.
The Toronto-based stylist, 40, was among the Duchess’ best friends when she was living as an actress in Canada and at one stage, the pair were so close, that Meghan even called Jessica the night when Prince Harry proposed
Moments before Prince Harry popped the question in the Walled Garden of Kensington Palace, the former Suits star appears to have video-called Jessica, who is based in Toronto.
As she approached the setting, Meghan said: ‘Oh my God Jess, it’s happening. He told me not to peek.’
It is thought that ‘Jess’ refers to celebrity stylist Jessica, who was one of Meghan’s closest pals prior to the potential rift between the pair following Jessica’s comments about ‘white privilege’.
The footage then jumps to a never-before-seen clip of the romantic proposal of Prince Harry down on one knee and surrounded by 15 electric candles.

The day of the royal wedding Jessica shared snaps on Instagram and captioned the post: ‘Proud friend. Proud mom.’
Later, a palace insider even suggested to the Mail on Sunday that Meghan frequently confided in the stylist as her and Harry began to solidify their plans to step down as royals.
The source said: ‘Jessica was more influential on “Megxit” than anyone really realized.’
Prince Harry has made no mention of Jessica in any press interviews, or his book – despite the fact he has defended Lady Susan Hussey, who was involved in a recent race row
Following the announcement Harry and Meghan were leaving the Royal Family, Jessica said: ‘A strong woman looks a challenge in the eye and gives it a wink.’
It appeared as though Meghan and Jessica became distant in 2020 when the style guru was called out by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter for comments she made regarding ‘white privilege’ while the pair had a conversation about the Black Lives Matters movement.
Although Jessica denied being a racist, Sasha, claimed the stylist left her ‘paralyzed with fear’.
Following the blogger’s claims, Jessica issued three public apologies, however she still faced consequences and was dropped by numerous television networks.
DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that ABC severed ties with her, confirming that Jessica would not be returning to her occasional role as a fashion contributor on Good Morning America.
Canadian TV network CTV also cut off ties with the stylist, revealing that it would be pulling all episodes of her wedding-themed reality TV show I Do Redo from its platform.
Rocky waters for Jessica continued as she was then accused of using Meghan as her ‘superpower,’ however, she denied there was any truth to this and refused to talk about the Duchess during interviews.
As the backlash against Jessica built up, Meghan remained quiet and distant on the matter.

The Netflix special is filled with personal moments – including Harry and Meghan’s engagement, where the former TV star phoned Jessica, before Harry proposed, and told her ‘it’s happening’
One source told Daily Mail their friendship is no longer ‘what it once was,’ adding that this was due to the pair having ‘just grown apart’ and not because of the fallout between Jessica and Sasha.
The insider added: ‘Of course, Meghan has been worried about Jess. She’ll always have love for her.’
However Jessica wasn’t given an interview spot in the explosive Netflix documentary series, despite some of Meghan’s other closest friends making numerous appearances.
Meanwhile Harry makes no mention of her in the book, and has not spoken about Jessica in any of his interviews publicizing the tome.
Toronto-based Influencer Sasha Exeter said she was left ‘paralysed with fear’ and ‘stayed up days and nights’ worrying about what Jessica (right) ‘could be saying to my existing brand partners, potential work, potential livelihood’. The pair had a row over racism and Mulroney apparently not using her voice enough in a private exchange believed to have happened over Instagram direct messages
This comes despite the fact he has used the interviews to defend Lady Susan Hussey, who last month was embroiled in a high profile race row.
Revealing that his wife Meghan thinks Prince William’s godmother, who was lady-in-waiting to the late Queen, is ‘great’, the Duke declared: ‘I love Susan Hussey’, even though she resigned from her honorary role at Buckingham Palace after repeatedly asking black charity boss Ngozi Fulani where she came from.
And in turn, Jessica, a prolific social media user with 414,000 followers on Instagram has made no comment about Prince Harry’s book.
Instead, she shared an Instagram story about a pair of Nike trainers.
