The funeral will be led by Dr. David Hoyle, who is the Dean of Westminster. The funeral can be seen on TV, heard on the radio, and followed online.
The 39th Dean of Westminster is the Very Rev. Dr. David Hoyle MBE. In his job, he is in charge of the spiritual life of Westminster Abbey and leads the people who live there.
Dr. David Hoyle went to Cambridge University to study history and theology. For his PhD thesis, he wrote about the later stages of the English Reformation. At Ripon College in Cuddesdon, he learned how to be a minister. From 1986 to 1988, he was Curate at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Cambridge.
David Hoyles has been a Chaplain, Fellow, and Director of Studies in Theology at Magdalene College in Cambridge. He has also been the Vicar of Christ Church in Southgate and the Director of Ministry and Canon Residentiary at Gloucester Cathedral. He was also the Dean of Bristol at one time.
On November 16, 2019, Dr. David Hoyle will be put in place as the Dean of Westminster.
The Queen’s coffin went from Balmoral Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh on September 11. On September 12, a procession was put together to take the coffin to St. Giles’ Cathedral.
It will rest here, with guards from the Royal Company of Archers watching over it so that people in Scotland can pay their respects. The Queen’s coffin will be taken to RAF Northolt on Tuesday, the 13th, before being taken to Buckingham Palace.
On the afternoon of September 14, the coffin will be carried in a procession from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster on a gun carriage of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery. The Queen will lie in state until the morning of the State Funeral in Westminster Hall.
Only people who have been invited can come to the funeral. His Majesty the King and members of the Royal Family will be there, as well as members of foreign royal families, the Prime Minister, members of HM Government and the Opposition, Heads of State, and representatives of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s patronages.
Dr. David Hoyle will lead the funeral, but The Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, Primate of All England, and Metropolitan, will give the sermon.
